Today is Sunday, again.
It's my favourite day of the week because I get to go to the E.N.T.department or Otolaryngology (pronounced oh/toe/lair/in/goll/oh/jee) to poke into people's ear and nose and get to meet cute children of Mountain East.
Because I woke up late, I left home without breakfast.
As a result, I resorted to buying Mountain East bread by the road side.
Yo... so nice. :-)
Shao Bing is sold by weight. The 3 pieces she's preparing for me costs about RMB2.20
When I got to my teacher's office, my colleagues were already in action. And it seemed today was a Lost Your Voice Day as there were a lot of patients of this sort.
The lady in the picture couldn't speak for quite a while and we suspected there's something wrong with her vocal cord.
We performed the fibre-optic nasal endoscope on her. The tiny camera went through her nose then down to her throat.
When we found the vocal cord, we saw red spots and a small polyp.
Err... a polyp is a mass of tissue that develops on/protrudes from a mucous membrane.
So, 声带息肉(Polyp of Vocal Cord) it is! Yo, the software that they use for the operation of the fibre-optic camera is so user-friendly and advanced. Virtually no flaw! So I printed out the report for the patient.
We recommended her to have it removed.
What.
The polyp lah not the vocal cord.
Then there's this lady who lost her voice for 3 days.
We checked 'everything' and just hadn't a clue what's wrong with her.
She didn't eat anything heaty or has not got polyp growing from her vocal cord...
We scratched our head and feel exasperated.
Only after quite some time did she tell us that she's been very sad and had been crying for 3 freaking days continuously because a relative just passed away.
Yo... that's something new to me. But I don't think the crying did a lot of harm, it was her EMOTION that some how disfunctioned her voice.
But in any case, my friend, no good crying for 3 days ok?
After the excitement in the morning I feel like being unhealthy and went to McDonald's.
But only when I was staring at their menu above the counter that I realised how I'm sick and tired of fast food already.
I did try out the unique Yam Pie though, which was almost as good as the Banana Pie in KL.
